It’s possible for you, beyond obtaining Esprit and as you progress, to unlock the different playable characters of the game. Our guide tells you how to do it and also lists these last.

During Sonic’s adventures at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, you will be offered to unlock (not counting the characters already present) a total of eight characters. The way to acquire them is simple: you just have to complete the different levels of the story and, therefore, complete the areas of the game one by one.

You will understand, an accomplished zone will offer you, in fact, a character that you will be able to use later. Note however that the latter will only be able to participate in certain events defined by the title.

  • Amy

Characters to unlock :

  • Metal Sonic : unlocked by completing zone 1 (Asakusa). Usable for 100m and BMX events.
  • Jet : unlocked by completing zone 2 (Odaiba). Usable for the 400 meter hurdles event.
  • Rouge the bat : unlocked by completing zone 3 (Roppongi). Usable for Trampoline and Sport Climbing events.
  • Espio : unlocked by completing zone 4 (Nihombashi). Usable for the Fencing test.
  • Eggman Nega : unlocked by completing zone 5 (Shinjuku). Can be used for javelin throw, archery and badminton.
  • Zazz : unlocked by completing zone 6 (Yokohama). Usable for the table tennis event.
  • Zavok : unlocked by completing zone 6 (Yokohama). Usable for the Hammer throw test.
  • Dr. Eggman : unlocked by completing zone 7 (Shibuya). Usable for the Long Jump, Shooting – Olympic Pit, Diving – 3 meter springboard and Karate events.
